LOGAN City Council's Ekka public holiday will go ahead on Monday, despite the Royal Brisbane Show being cancelled for another year.
Keeping the holiday on the same day would save disrupting local business, council said in today's announcement.
The People's Day Ekka holiday in Brisbane, scheduled for Wednesday, August 11, has been postponed to a date to be confirmed.

Scenic Rim's public holiday has also been postponed, while Redland City Council's holiday will go ahead on Monday as planned, that council announced.
It comes amid a growing number of COVID-19 cases in Queensland. The government announced 17 new locally-acquired cases, taking the total numbers to 63.
Deputy mayor Jon Raven said in a statement to the Jimboomba Times that there was not time to come up with a new date.
Last year, the date was changed to August 14.
"Last year we chose to move it because there was plenty of warning (eight weeks) and there was a clear purpose - to provide a 'people's weekend', so that tourism operators could open with certainty knowing that people would be able to go and enjoy the economy," the statement said.
"Even with weeks' warning, and a really clear purpose for moving the public holiday last year, council received a large amount of negative feedback from the community and business about rescheduling the holiday.
"This year, there is only two business days' warning (the first it was raised with us was yesterday and we were given three hours to make a decision) and there is no clear purpose or identified date to move to.
"This means that any future date that is chosen with enough people to be able to plan around the date could also end up being during another lockdown, or failing that, have the unintended consequence of interfering with long-term planning/schedules for businesses, schools, sports clubs and community groups."
Logan City Council committee meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday will not have a public gallery.

The City Planning, Economic Development and Environment Committee and City Infrastructure Committee meet on Tuesday, from 9am.
On Wednesday, the City Lifestyle and City Governance committees meet, also from 9am.
