Rotarians will tee off for a golf day in October in the first of a long list of celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the organisation.
The golf day, on October 8, will coincide with a shot of 100 rotarians, to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Australia in 2021.
Golfers from across south-east Queensland will converge on Hills Golf Club for the day, with 72 playing and a further 28 on the putt putt course.
About 18 clubs from as far afield as St George and Warwick will join Jimboomba, Beaudesert and Boonah players on the day.
The combined 100 with gather before the start of play for a drone shot at the course.
The photo will be taken at 7am, before a shotgun start at 8am, then lunch at 12.30pm.
Rotarian David Glover expected good golfers on the course on the day.
"I'll give you a tip - the Rotary boys love their golf," he said.
"There will be a lot of banter. That's why we made a competition out of it."
Some added competition on the course will make players think.
"There will be some separate challenges as they go around the course," Mr Glover said.
The day will double as fundraiser. Mr Glover said Rotary aimed to raise about $2000 for local causes on the day.
The winning club on the day will then pick one of its members to receive the Paul Harris Fellowship.
District governor Andy Rajapakse has announced he would pay the $1000 US fee to buy the fellowship for the winning club.
The prestigious award recognises rotarians for their contributions to the organisation.
The award began in 1957 to honour people who had contributed, or had contributions made in their name, of $1000 to the Rotary Foundation.
Mr Glover said the organisation was strong in the area, but new members were always welcomed.
"We have one of the highest densities of rotarians going around," he said.
"But we are always looking for people."
David Parkins is the Jimboomba president. He took the reins from Peter Anderson-Barr earlier this month at the changeover dinner.
Mr Parkins is also on the board for Jimboomba's Relay for Life.
