THE region's youngest Rotary club has opened its arms to interested residents during Rotary membership month.
Chartered in April, the Rotary Club of Browns Plains' motto revolves around connecting cultures.
A club spokeswoman said the formation of a Browns Plains club was discussed in October 2018, with a call for expressions of interest sent out that December.
"Twelve very enthusiastic individuals from all walks of life attended the first interest meeting," she said.
"The mission was set and the plan to start off as a satellite club with only six members and charter within (a year) was agreed upon."
The club's goals include growing its members and building an inclusive club, as well as establishing a Rotaract Club for young professionals.
"(We want to) establish a club annual fundraising event (and) develop a rolling three year strategic plan," the spokeswoman said.
The Rotary Club of Browns Plains meets every first and third Thursday at the Logan West Library.
Guests include local, national and international visiting Rotarians, exchange students, Peace Fellows and guest speakers from our local community.
