WORK to widen the Jimboomba section of the Mount Lindesay Highway to four lanes will start in 2020.

The $20 million upgrade project between Camp Cable Road and the Johanna/Tamborine Street intersection will begin on January 7.
This comes following completion of the jointly funded $20 million upgrade to the North Maclean section of the highway last month.
Logan MP Linus Power said the Jimboomba upgrade included a shared bike and pedestrian path across Jimboomba Creek.
"Upgrading the highway over Jimboomba Creek will improve flood immunity, safety and reliability for all road users," Mr Power said.
Mr Power said the Palaszczuk government committed $4.8 million over the next two years for planning and design of future upgrades.
"These are between Stoney Camp Road and Jimboomba, extending the four lanes to Chambers Flat Road, and four lanes across the Logan River at North and South Maclean," he said.
''Consultation with the community is set to continue in 2020 and we look forward to working with the community as we improve this road.
"Jobs and safer roads have been a priority of the Palaszczuk Government."
Other Mount Lindesay Highway upgrades underway include the $20 million Rosia Road to Stoney Camp Road project and the $14 million South Maclean safety improvements.
The next state election is due on October 31 2020 with the Mount Lindesay Highway tipped to be a top priority for voters.
Scenic Rim MP Jon Krause called for the state government to fix the "Jimboomba bottleneck" since 2018.
"I will continue to lobby the Labor Government to have the Mount Lindesay improved from Jimboomba to the New South Wales border to ensure that all who use this road are kept safe."
The project is expected to be complete by early 2021.
