A YOUNG Logan man has woken up to the news he is almost $1 million richer after winning the division one Gold Lotto draw on October 8.
The anonymous winner held one of the four division one entries nationally in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw and will take home $973,232.37.
The winning 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased online.
He said the phone call from a Golden Casket official was unexpected and amazing.
"I want to celebrate today, but I think I am still going to have to go into work," he said.
"This feels like a dream. I hope I don't wake up and find out this isn't real."
When asked how he planned to spend his winnings, the Logan man said he might pay off his mortgage and do some home renovations.
"I've been so busy at work, so I'd like to take some time off and go on a holiday too," he said.
"I need to have a good think about how I should use my prize."
The winning numbers for the Saturday Gold lotto draw 3987 were 34, 33, 20, 36, 12 and four, while supplementary numbers were 10 and 23.
Two division one winners were from Queensland, while the other two were from Victoria and Tasmania.
In the 12 months up to June 30, there were 244 division one winning Saturday Gold Lotto entries.
