GREENBANK State School's leadership team is full of ideas to inspire confidence in the school community for 2019.
Captains Brock Veenhuis and Amelia Schloss and vice-captains Ilijiah Farleigh and Clarissa Lee have already taken on their responsibilities and will be formally recognised at a leadership ceremony at the school hall on Friday, February 22.
Deputy principal Jacqueline Parker said the students were already working hard to fulfill commitments promised prior to them taking on their roles.
"One thing I have noticed with this year's school captains is they have been very proactive in trying to implement new ideas and practices in the school," she said.
"They made promises in their speeches about goals they would like to achieve this year, and very early on they are looking to enact those ideas."
Vice-captain Ilijiah Farleigh said he wanted to see a consultative approach to improve the school.
"I want to create an ideas box for everyone in the school...if someone has a good idea they can place it in there and share with the principal to turn good ideas into reality," he said.
School captain Brock Veenhuis said he wanted to build on the positive aspects of the school community he has been a part of for the past seven years.
"(Students need to be) resilient, passionate, caring and respectful of others," he said.
"People need to pick up rubbish when they see it, even if it isn't their rubbish and always have a go in class and never give up."
School captain Amelia Schloss said she was inspired by former school captains and wanted to be a strong role model.
Vice-captain Clarissa Lee said the captains had already led a number of school assemblies.
