EMERGENCY services were called to Greenbank on Tuesday morning after a baby was reported locked in a car.
Three fire crews and RACQ were on scene at Pintail Court at 6.40am to free the toddler inside a Nissan Qashqai.
No ambulance crews were required and it is unclear whether any medical attention was required.
RACQ spokesperson Kirsty Clinton said a majority of call outs to rescue babies locked in cars were accidental.
“This is where the child may get hold of the keys and accidentally lock themselves in, or new vehicle technology has worked against the parent or carer who accidentally locks the car before opening the back door while the keys are still in the vehicle,” she said.
“The important message is that for RACQ members and even non-members, if your child is locked in the car, don’t risk their safety by attempting to break a window yourself. Call RACQ and we’ll send the two closest patrols as a priority to help.”
With Summer approaching, Ms Clinton said it was vital for parents to ensure children were never left unsupervised in a car.
“Cars can get hot very quickly so it’s important you stay calm and call RACQ as soon as possible,” she said.
“Intentionally leaving a child unsupervised in a vehicle is dangerous and illegal, so please don’t do it, even for a few minutes.”
Earlier this year, RACQ statistics showed an alarming number of babies were being locked in Logan suburbs.
Browns Plains topped the list in the state, with 15 RACQ call outs reported from June 1, 2017 to May 31, 2018, more than any other suburb in Queensland.
