FOUNDING members joined in the celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Logan Village Social Garden Club this week.

About 50 people packed out the Logan Village Lions Community Hall for the celebration, enjoying cake and other sweet treats to mark the occasion.

Founding members Betty Milne-Ward and Chris Edwards were on hand yesterday.
The club handed out badges recognising some long-serving gardeners.
Del Challen and Joan Davis were given 30 year badges, and 20 years went to former president Mary Lloyd, Linda Miosge, Helen Rattenbury, Dorothy Shortman and Don Boorman.
Irene Robertson, Shirley Stray and Shaani Wigg were given 10 years' service badges.
Club president Sue Heindel said it was a good day out for the club.
"I think everybody had a good time," she said.
Guest speaker Gary Entwistle gave the crowd an insight into his role as horticultural curator at South Bank Parklands in Brisbane.
The club has meetings on the first Tuesday of every month. Social outings are on every third Tuesday.
