TWENTY-five years of Logan Village Social Garden Club was celebrated with a high tea on May 3.
The club combined their silver celebrations with their annual friendship morning tea.
More than 80 people joined together for the morning of tea, chats and of course purchasing more plants to take home.
The Logan Village club was joined by garden clubs from Boonah, Eagleby, Ormeau, Bayside as well as the Queensland Council of Garden Clubs.
Special guest speaker Curator of Brisbane Botanic Gardens Dale Arvidsson told the crowd about the importance of local knowledge for gardeners to share among themselves.
President Irene Robertson said she was pleased with how people had responded to the high tea idea.
“It was something a bit different,” she said.
“It’s a great honour to be president in this anniversary year.”
Patron Dell Challen was one of six founding members of the group.
“There was no where to meet people and so I used to go to the Logan City club,” she said.
“We thought we would start our own so started off going to each others houses and then we moved up to the hall and now we have 70 members.”
Ms Challen was given a thank you present from the club at the conclusion of the high tea.
