SUNDAY'S Last Man Stands round was one to remember for Jake Boettcher, who came through with an impressive hat trick, helping the Crafty Tappers to a win.
With only three of their regular players available, the Tappers had several new faces for the match against Purple People Eaters.
Batting first, they put on an impressive 156 from their 20 overs. Standouts were Ashneel Nair with 53 from 27 and a late order cameo from Rob Pearce of 34 from 15.
But this innings was to be remembered for the hat trick of teenager Jake Boettcher. A caught behind followed by two wickets clean bowled and the match ball was to be taken by Boettcher.
Purple People Eaters were up against it when their skipper was dismissed early, but a handy partnership between Mathew Burgmesiter (51 from 47) and Matt Boettcher (30 from 23) gave them some hope.
It wasn't enough for the Purple People Eaters, and the Tappers held on for the victory.
Meanwhile, in an entertaining low scoring match, Now or Never triumphed over the Beauy Bucheurs by just 4 runs.
Batting first, Now or Never were in trouble early, losing 6 for 55, but their last pair put on 51 runs between them and they had a score of 107 at which to bowl.
Josh Browning and Sammy Matthews were the standouts, taking 5 for 25 between them in 8 overs.
Bucheurs started slowly and lost some early wickets of their own, until Sammy Matthews with 41 renewed their hopes, even though they trailed the run rate.
But the Now or Never bowlers were on song and held on to get the win and solidify their top 2 spot on the table.
It was a day of milestones in Division 2, with Kylie Stace and Leith Carroll both making their first half centuries during the face-off between the Trouble Makers and the Odd Bunch.
Stace took 51 from 50 for Odd Bunch, while Carroll made her mark with 50 from 36 for Trouble Makers.
Batting first, Odd Bunch scored 140 as Josh Lampard made 44 from 30, helped by Stace's efforts.
Mathew Burgmeister took 2 for 7 from his 2 overs for Trouble Makers.
In reply, Jason Hart made 48 from 27 as the target was reached in the last over and Trouble Makers took the win over their friendly rivals.
Jake Boettcher managed to back up his earlier hat trick, taking another 2 wickets for Odd Bunch.
Ladder leaders Test Eagle suffered their first loss of the season to No Limits as their total of 137 was run down with 2 overs top spare.
Once again, openers Rob Pearce and David Poole (50 from 33) were in the runs and Test Eagles had a competitive target on the board.
Jason Hart and Angelo Matthews picked up a pair of wickets each for No Limits.
But Nick Young had other ideas and his 50 from 31, supported by Matthews, helped No Limits to victory.
The Jimby Crickets were helped to victory against the Cane Toads by two half centuries from Ben Casey and Phil Walsh.
Cane Toads batted first, but their 132 runs was not enough as Jimby's cruised to a 7 wicket win with more than 3 overs to spare.
Daniel Muller and Callum Whiting got the Toads off to steady start as they scored 44 and 45 respectively, but the bowling of Kevin Barrett was the story of the innings as he took 2 for 11 from his 4 overs.
Jimby's batters were in a hurry as Casey (50 from 29) and Walsh both (54 from 30) scored 50s and wrapped up a comfortable victory.
