Logan MP Linus Power has slammed the Liberal National Party plan to cut $37.5 million from the Mount Lindesay Highway to pay for a new Gold Coast road.
Costings released by opposition treasury spokesman Tim Mander yesterday revealed that if elected, the LNP will cut the money from the upgrade to pay for election promises.

Mr Power said locals will be furious to hear about the LNP's plan.
"Last night, LNP Shadow Treasurer Tim Mander revealed that if elected they will cut $37.5 million the Palaszczuk government has already allocated to four-lane the Mount Lindesay Highway between Stoney Camp Road and Chambers Flat Road," Mr Power said.
"Deb Frecklington and the LNP's savage cuts to this important upgrade will see 80 local jobs lost, for them to fund a highway on the Gold Coast instead - it just isn't good enough.
Documents reveal the LNP will cut almost $700 million in road upgrades in more than 100 projects across Queensland to pay for a new Gold Coast highway.
Treasurer Cameron Dick said the roads rip off exposed the LNP's incompetence.
"We know the LNP is cutting jobs and we know they'll cut services," he said.
"Now we know they'll cut vital road upgrades and stimulus funding for regional towns as well."
The Mount Lindesay Highway upgrade from Stoney Camp Road to Chambers Flat Road is due to begin construction early next year.
