JIMBOOMBA Toastmasters is hosting a six-week course to help nervous speakers shake their jitters.
Group spokeswoman Jean Turley said some people became so anxious when speaking in public, they rated the experience as stressful as death, divorce and moving house.
However, help was at hand, she said.
The six-week Speechcraft course, on from Saturday, May 4, would cover factors involved in public speaking and the basics of refining communication, persuasion and presentation skills.
"I am convinced everyone has the potential to be a confident speaker in any situation," Ms Turley said.
The course, which costs $60 in total, will be delivered across six Saturday workshops from 11am to 1pm.
For more information or to sign up, contact Ms Turley on 0416 209 104.
Jimboomba Toastmasters Club meet the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at Dorrington House, Johanna Street from 7pm.
