Jimboomba Toastmasters celebrated their 500th meeting in style at Jimboomba House Restaurant in October.
The meeting included visitors from other local Toastmaster clubs and various dignitaries from Toastmasters International.
Gloria and John Bremer – two original members – were also in attendance.
Guest speaker Doreen Wendt-Weir, a local historian and author, gave a light-hearted speech about local history and some of the interesting characters she had met during the years.
Club publicity officer Nataliya Kotykhov said it was great to see so many people celebrating the milestone event.
“This is a huge achievement as club president John Rayfield remembers that around that time 22 years ago, horses were still being tied up outside the pub and not that many people lived in the area,” she said.
The group meet on 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month at Dorrington House, Jimboomba. Call Jean on 0416 209 104.
