A BRAVE year nine student joined three teachers to support Marsden State High School's World Greatest Shave fundraiser on Tuesday.
Aaliyah Lawrence is diagnosed with Type one Neurofibromatosis which is a rare genetic disorder causing tumors to grow along the nerves of her skin, brain and head.
There is possibility these tumors can turn cancerous but this is not normally the case
Roughly one in every 3000 Australians are diagnosed with the condition.
Ms Lawrence said she was losing her locks in solidarity with everyone who has experienced cancer.
"I am doing the World's Greatest Shave because I want to help people with cancer. People with cancer get bullied because they have no hair," she said.
"I want people with cancer to never give up and just keep on trying and believing in themselves."
Marsden State High School teachers Jacqui Tait and Nicole Palacios also shaved their hair to support the Leukemia Foundation.
Teacher Michael Mientjes shaved his beard.
The school raised $1500 for the Leukemia Foundation.
