FUNDING has been locked in for key projects to go ahead in Logan Village.
Logan City Council set aside $2 million in last year's budget toward the Logan Village Implementation Fund to co-fund an upgrade of the Logan Village Green.
The federal government contributed $500,000 towards the upgrade under the Building Better Regions Fund.
A further $25,000 has been allocated to the Logan Village Festival and Events Strategic Plan (2019-2024).
Cr Laurie Koranski said the money would go towards a playground upgrade and sourcing more heritage buildings on the site.
"Logan Village is a rare and unique gem and this funding will allow us to polish it even further," she said.
"Council recently appointed an advisory group consisting of residents, business owners and members of local community groups to provide input into the successful delivery of the Logan Village Implementation Fund projects.
"I am sure they are as excited as I am to learn of this great news of additional federal funding for two significant projects in Logan Village."
The projects were funded after consultation from the Logan Village Forum in March last year.
Wright MP Scott Buchholz said the funding partnership would make a difference to the local community.
"This is a community that is maturing and we are taking up the fight and delivering for Logan Village," he said.
"Our investment in projects include the Logan Village CCTV cameras, which are now operational, and the Village Green upgrade is another boost for the area."
The council has started planning, design and implementation of other projects identified through the forum.
