JIMBOOMBA Scouts have already hit the ground running with a Jamboree camp at South Australia this month.
Club members aged between 10 to 18 took part in Australia Scouts’ 25th Jamboree camp at the Tailem Bend Motorsports Park, South Australia, from January 4 to 14.
Bicycle riding, cart racing and land yachting activities unfolded on the V8 car racing circuit while water activities were enjoyed at nearby lakes.
This comes after junior Jimboomba Scouts members traveled to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island for a Cuboree camp.
Meanwhile, Jimboomba Scouts group meetings are set to continue from Monday, January 28, with new members welcome to express interest in a free trial week.
Jimboomba Scouts group leader Michael Gray said members could expect an action packed year ahead.
“Our first major camp will be a rafting camp which will hopefully be out on Wyralong Dam,” he said.
“At the end of last year we had a day learning about aircraft and flying in an aircraft at Redcliffe.”
Expressions of interest from new members will be welcome across all age groups including joeys (five to seven), cubs (seven to 10), scouts (10 to 14), venturers (14 to 18) and rover scouts (18 to 26).
Mr Gray said anyone interested in a come-and-try day could send an email to gljimboombascouts@gmail.com for more information.
