LOGAN Council will offer environmental grants worth up to $10,000 this year as applications open for the EnviroGrants program.
Acting mayor Cherie Daley said a $40,000 funding boost for the program in last year’s budget meant the top individual grant could double from $5000 to $10,000.
“Last year council provided more than $170,000 to the community for 45 different environment-driven projects,” she said.
“There are so many individuals and organisations in Logan who are doing amazing work in helping to protect and improve our natural environment and council is delighted to assist them through out Environmental Grants program.
“I encourage everyone who is eligible under the grant criteria to submit an application.”
Funding is awarded to promote environmentally sustainable practices, support community awareness and develop engagement projects.
Residents, landholders, businesses, educational organisations, wildlife carers and not-for-profit environment and wildlife care organisations can apply.
