Ms Lobo was enjoyed her visit at the recycling centre and loved the bargains on offer at the Logan Recycling Centre.
Logan diverts 25,000 tonnes of waste for recycling per year – Visy processes the recyclables collected in the yellow lid recycling bins until 2021.
About 35,000 tonnes of green waste is diverted from waste to energy.
And 2,000 tonnes of unwanted items are resold through the Logan recycling market each year.
City parks, animals, environment and waste committee chair councillor Jennie Breene said the council’s outstanding waste management practices will get a national audience.
“We’re proud of our BPWRF so it’s great knowing it will get this kind of exposure,” Cr Breene said.
“Logan is committed to a green and renewable future and, Totally Wild, with its environmental focus, is a great platform for getting that message across.
“I’d like to thank the staff at the BPWRF for accommodating this opportunity and being so helpful to the crew.”
