JIMBOOMBA Olympic athlete Genevieve LaCaze inspired Emmaus College student Jett Trembath to win the Pierre de Coubertin award winner.
Mr Trembath was one of four students nominated for the Pierre de Coubertin award which recongises senior students who demonstrate attributes consistent with the Olympic Games through participation and behaviour.
The students were required to complete a written or creative piece of work to be showcased at an awards ceremony.
As a Jimboomba athlete, Mr Trembath focused his written piece on LaCaze, who competed in Steeplechase at the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in April this year.
Mr Trembath is also a member of Souths Logan Rugby League who competed in the Mal Meninga Cup earlier this year.

He was also proud to represent Emmaus College at the Confraternity Carnival last year where the school achieved a rare Queensland victory.
“It took lots of tough training sessions to get there,” he said.
Mr Trembath said being part of a sporting team made the experience more fulfilling.
“I love team sports more than athletics and individual sports,” he said.
“I like the bonds you create with teammates. Rather than just training yourself, you train with friends.”
Looking ahead, Mr Trembath wants to pursue his passion for Rugby League and study physiotherapy at university in 2019.
“Being a physio and working with sporting clubs is something I’m interested in,” he said.
Emmaus College will hold their years 7-12 Celebration of Learning Awards ceremony on Tuesday, November 6 at 9am to reveal academic award winners for 2018.
