POLLING booths across the Jimboomba region opened at 8am today.
Voting is compulsory for those who are enrolled to vote, and full preferential voting is in place.
This means every box on the ballot paper must be numbered in your preferred order to ensure the vote is counted.
In the seat of Logan, sitting member Linus Power (Australian Labor Party) is competing against five other candidates: Scott Bannan (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Gloria Vicario (LNP), Daniel Murphy (independent), Danielle Cox (independent) and Liam Jenkinson (The Greens).
In Algester, the incumbent Leanne Enoch (Australian Labor Party) is competing against three other candidates: Darryl Lanyon (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Clinton Pattinson (LNP), and Patsy O’Brien (The Greens).
In the newly created seat of Jordan there are seven candidates standing for election: Charis Mullen (Australian Labor Party), Michael Pucci (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Duncan Murray (LNP), Steve Hodgson (independent), Peter Ervik (Civil Liberties, Consumer Rights, No Tolls), Phil Cutcliffe (independent) and Steven Purcell (The Greens).
In the Scenic Rim electorate, incumbent Jon Krause (LNP) is competing against three other candidates: Rod Smith (Pauline Hanson’s One Nation), Shannon Girard (The Greens) and Carolyn Buchan (Australian Labor Party).
