The festival was kicked off with a traditional smoking ceremony and a series of dances by members of the Mununjali community.
These were followed by a joint address by City of Logan Mayor Darren Power and Division 9 Councillor Scott Bannan to welcome guests on behalf of Logan City Council.
Cr Bannan thanked the Mayor for his support, saying Cr Power had "always backed [his] plays" while the Mayor said he hoped the festival would show guests Jimboomba's unique character.
This sentiment was echoed by several of the guests, who had been drawn in by the promise of flame-grilled food.
Jimboomba resident Sam Mackay said he was optimistic about the future of the festival.
"I think it's great to have events like this come to town," Mr Mackay said.
"I hope it becomes a yearly thing."
Other highlights of the event included a series of live music acts on the main stage, several eating competitions, as well as the city's first ever regional cook-off which was won by Brett George.
