The Queensland Police Service (QPS) says officers saw a red Subaru Impreza with allegedly stolen number plates driving through the Kingston area.
Police do not believe the car to be stolen, but say the number plates were reported stolen from Eight Mile Plains on July 14.
The police say the car drove off at speed from officers, and PolAir tracked the vehicle from Beenleigh through several suburbs in the South Brisbane district as it committed several traffic offences.
Two men left the vehicle in an underground shopping centre in Chermside, and police say the pair were arrested after attempting to flee on foot.
Police then searched the car, and found what they say were firearm parts, drugs and drug utensils.
The Loganlea man has been charged with 13 offences including unlawful possession of a weapon, dangerous operation of a vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs.
He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 9.
The Marsden man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and is set to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on an as-yet undetermined date.
