Local talent will be on show at the next instalment of Logan Art Gallery's Pop-Up in Hillcrest, which opens on July 29.
Logan Village artist Mark Kleine will exhibit their new series Domina, a collection of photographic and digital works which explore a fictional relationship between a parent and their gender-fluid child.
Christina Lowry, from Rochedale South, will present her first solo exhibition Remember to live which draws parallels between the COVID-19 pandemic and plague outbreaks during the 17th Century and how these influenced the work of Dutch artists.
Rounding out the exhibition is Escaping stress by Boronia Heights artist Oliver Murdoch, who has created illustrations of superhero characters.
Both Kleine and Ms Lowry will present talks on their art from 5:30pm at the opening, which will be followed by an address by Dr Martin Smith from the Queensland College of Art at Griffith University.
This round of exhibitions will be displayed until September 3 and City Lifestyle Chair, Councillor Laurie Koranski said previous rounds had been very popular with residents.
"This has proved very popular with residents in the area surrounding Logan West Community Centre," she said.
Division 7 Councillor Tim Frazer said the pop-up had been a "big hit" with residents in his division, and had opened the door to similar initiatives.
"It has been a big hit taking it out into the suburbs and we are now considering what further opportunities we can create throughout the city, not just at our main gallery," Cr Frazer said.
Entry to the Logan Art Gallery Pop-Up is free, and it can be found at 2 Wineglass Drive, Hillcrest. Opening hours are from 10am-5pm on Tuesdays through Saturdays.
