Logan Libraries will host several events for young readers next week, and families across the city are invited to attend.
On Wednesday May 25 libraries across Logan will participate in National Simultaneous Storytime, an annual event to promote literacy, reading and Australian writers.
Family Tree, a by Josh Pyke that celebrates family, community and the seasons, will be read from 11am at the following libraries as part of the regular Wiggle and Rhyme session:
- Logan West
- Beenleigh
- Marsden
- Jimboomba
- Logan Central
- Logan North
The Greenbank and Logan Hyperdome libraries are also participating in the event, from 10:30am.
2022 marks the 22nd year of National Simultaneous Storytime, and the goal is to get over 1 million children involved, after the 2021 event had over 1.98 million participants at over 33 thousand locations.
Best-selling author Deano Yipadee will also host his popular show at several Logan Libraries next week, where children can laugh, sing and read along with Mr Yipadee's collection of books including Nee Naw the Little Fire Engine and Stink-o-saurus.
Sessions will take place at the following libraries:
- Logan North Library: Monday May 23 (10-11am)
- Beenleigh Library: Tuesday May 24 (10-11am)
- Logan Central Library: Wednesday May 25 (10-11am)
- Marsden Library: Thursday May 26 (9.30-10.30am)
- Logan West Library: Friday May 27 (11am-12pm)

Both events also celebrate Under Eights Week, and take home activity packs are available from your local library.
