Police also urged motorists to re-evaluate their travel times as floodwater remains over the Mount Lindesay Highway at Jimboomba.
The water has closed the south-bound lanes of the new section between Johanna Street and Camp Cable Road.
Traffic is being diverted onto the high side, causing congestion and delays for drivers.
It was backed up to the Millstream Road intersection this morning.
"People need to plan their trip and know that it's going to be bad in the next couple of days," Sergeant Catterson said.
"They need to plan ahead."

Roo encounter
A close encounter with a roo on the Mount Lindesay Highway has officers warning the public to be careful.
A kangaroo jumped out in front of the Jimboomba police's Hilux this morning, north of the Camp Cable Road intersection.
The incident happened about 6.40am.
