THE Crafty Tappers have secured division one Minor Premiership and head into the finals on the back of two wins.
With a Minor Premiership up for grabs if Middle Stumped grabbed a win in their last game of the season, they were off to a great start with Brendan Wingett smacking 52 from 26 balls. But the Jimby Crickets bowlers were able to wrestle back control once he retired and held them to 156 from their 20 overs. Skipper Michael Cullen with a cameo 42 from 22 helping his team to a defendable target.
Daniel Stanford went for just 5 runs an over from his 4 overs.
In reply the Jimby's ran the target down with 11 balls to spare as Dave Harvey scored another 50 and the Jimby's batters scored at a decent run rate.
The two teams now face off again next week in the division two cup semi final at Glenlogan Park, as Middle Stumped stayed in second place and Jimby's jumped up to third position.
In division two with the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table, Test Eagles bowled the Cane Toads out in the 13th over for just 105 runs.
David Sheehan and Gavin Andrews rescued the Toads from disaster as they slumped to 4 for 9 inside 3 overs. Sheehan with 36 and Andrews with 44 gave their score some sort of respectability as wily old fox Shane Harris once again weaved his magic with 3 for 11 from 2 overs.
Their score was never enough as Jamie Braithwaite hit 53 from 28 balls and Test Eagles scored a bonus point win over the Cane Toads, losing 5 wickets on their way to winning inside 14 overs.
Mitch Le Prou and Gavin Andrews grabbed a couple of wickets each.
Test Eagles 3 wicket victors and take some form into next week's semi final against No Limits.
Trouble Makers batted first and in stifling heat posted 117 from their 20 overs, Matt Boettcher with 39 from 37 the mainstay of the innings. Riley Baldwin with 3 very good overs, taking 2 for 14.
Window Lickers skipper tried hard to get his team over the line, but there was just too much to do at the back end and his 49* from 35 balls wasn't enough as his top order soaked up too many dot balls.
Sixteen-year-old twins Luke and Jake Boettcher were on song and bowling with some nice pace and accuracy for Trouble Makers after Jason Hart was miserly just conceding 11 runs from his 4 overs of left arm bowling.
Trouble Makers winning by 9 runs and securing top spot in the plate Semi Final and taking on the Cane Toads next Sunday for a place in the plate final.
The Tappers batted first and after skipper Garry Singh and opener Jake Burns put on 50 for the first wicket they remaining batters just couldn't go on with it as the Now or Never B were miserly as usual with ball in hand. Mohit Mathur taking 3 for 23 for the Now or Never Team.
But Now or Never slumped to be 7 for 55 and Gagan Singh made a valiant effort to get his team over the line as he scored 47 from 50 balls and his team fell 10 runs short of the target with 6 balls still remaining. Gagan made 80 per cent of his runs as last man. Harwinder Sidhu, Garry Singh and Bailey Slater all took two wickets as the tappers held their nerve and held on for victory.
