FRIENDS, shoppers and colleagues have rallied to support and raise $37000 for mother and Coles Jimboomba team member Kelly Arnold and her husband Scott, after a fire razed the couple's home.
Ms Arnold suffered severe burns to 30 per cent of her body and was placed in an induced coma just before Christmas.
Her husband also suffered burns to his face. Fortunately, the couple's two teenage sons were not home at the time of the fire.
To help support the Arnold family through a long and extensive rehabilitation period ahead, the team at Coles Jimboomba came together to host an 80s themed trivia night featuring a silent auction and lucky door prizes to raise funds to help cover the costs of rehabilitation and the family's ongoing essential needs.
The trivia night was held last week at the Logan Entertainment Centre. Originally taking place at a smaller venue, the event was changed to a larger venue following tremendous support from the community.
Coles Jimboomba store manager Steven Scott said he was overwhelmed by the generosity shown by local shoppers and team members to help Ms Arnold and her family though an incredibly tough time.
"Kelly is a highly valued member of our Coles Jimboomba team and we're proud to be able to lend our support to her and her family following the devastating house fire which took their entire home," he said.
