Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has tested positive for COVID-19, the Spanish champions have reported.
The 48-year-old did not give his usual pre-match press conference on Friday and will not travel to Vitoria for Madrid's game at Alaves on Saturday.
Zidane's number two David Bettoni will instead take charge of the team in the Frenchman's absence.
"Zizou won't be there physcially but he will be with us in spirit," said Bettoni, who stressed it would be Zidane who would be picking the team and tactics against Alaves.
"I have spoken with him this morning and he is fine," he added.
Zidane will need two negative results before he can return to work so he could also miss more games with his side due to play Levante on January 30, Huesca the first weekend in February and Getafe on February 9.
Madrid's fixture list has been reduced by their unexpected elimination from the Copa del Rey.
They were beaten in extra-time by third-tier side Alcoyano on Wednesday, leaving Zidane to suffer heavy criticism for downplaying the exit after the match when he said "these things happen in football".
