Two centuries were the highlights of three wins on the opening day of the season for Jimboomba Bushrangers on Saturday.
Tom Jellie and Matt Turbill scored tons for the Bushrangers to start their season off on the right note.
Jellie, the first grade captain, rode his luck at times in an important knock for his team as they won by 43 runs.
His innings helped the Bushrangers to 9-192 after their 35 overs. In return, Beaudesert could only make 149 after a strong start..
It looked like Jellie's decision to bat first at Selwyn Park, Beaudesert, was the wrong one, with the Bushrangers in early trouble at 4-17.
Jellie belted five sixes and 14 boundaries on his way to 115 from 71 balls.
Beaudesert got off to a great start in their reply, and were 0-60 after nine overs.
First change bowler Max Harkin got the breakthrough the Bushies were after with his second ball.
The Beaudesert team continued scoring freely until Harkin took his second wicket just on the drinks break with the score at 99.
The Jimboomba bowlers dominated after the break and took the last eight for just 50 runs, with some great catching form the Bushrangers.
Harkin ended up with 3-35. Nathan McKenzie took 3-40, Samuel Matthews 2-35 and Jellie 2-11.
The other century of the weekend came in Division 2 with the Bushies Green team beat Beaudesert by 107 runs.
The home side was in trouble at Glenlogan Park, after winning the toss and batting first.
Matt Turbill (102) and Stuart Beadel (59NO) saved the day for the Bushrangers in a quality 130 run partnership.
The Bushrangers bowled well in reply, never letting Beaudesert to get on top with the bat, and restricting them to 6-125.
Graham Clark's off-spinners were too hard to handle, with his seven overs yielding 2-9.
Jimboomba's top-order batsmen made starts in the Gold team's win over Springwood at Homestead Park.
The visitors scored 9-237 before restricting the hosts to 7-190 from their 35 overs.
Brett Hayward made a deserved half century. His innings was backed up by Jason Hart's 43, Shannon White's 35 and Phil Myors' 33.
Hart also took three wickets.
The next match is a local derby between Green and Gold at Glenlogan Park, starting at 12.30pm. The Green team is looking to avenge last season's loss.
The first 11 will take on Greenbank at Malling Park.
