THE six-star Spicers Retreat at Clumber will be the destination for people taking part in a series of guided hikes this summer.
The hikes come as Scenic Rim tourism enjoys a rebirth following bushfires and COVID-19 forcing many venues to close their doors during restrictions on social gatherings.
After a recent sell-out five-day walk on the Scenic Rim Trail, Spicers Retreat has released its first summer walk program for Queensland's Great Walks of Australia.
Last summer, Spicers Peak Lodge was among the Scenic Rim tourism operators impacted by savage bushfire that devastated the region including a large fire in the vicinity of Lake Moogerah Road, Spicers Gap Road and the Cunningham Highway at Clumber.
This year as part of the luxury package, Spicers is offering a helicopter ride to Spicers Hidden Vale 1000m above sea level where the high altitude and rainforest canopy would allow those taking part to enjoy an escape from the heat. .
"With high altitude, rainforest canopy and helicopter transfers, summer hiking has never been so appealing," they said.
Organisers said the program would start with lunch at Homage Restaurant at Hidden Vale before a helicopter ride to Mount Mistake for the first night followed by three days guided hiking and staying in purpose-built accommodation, including their version of a Spicers treehouse.
Spicers Retreats managing director David Assef said the experience would finish with a night at Spicers Peak Lodge before a helicopter trip offering views of the Great Dividing Range, Moogerah Dam and the Condamine Gorge on the way back to Grandchester in the Lockyer Valley .
