POLICE used Polair and deployed road spikes to catch a 17-year-old after a series of alleged burglaries and the serious assault of a man at Beenleigh overnight.
The teenager has been charged with several offences, including attempt to murder, attempted burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle
Police say the boy forced entry to a Church Street home about 7pm and allegedly held a knife to another 17-year-old's throat while demanding property.
He is alleged to have stolen a number of items from the house before approaching a resident in the yard of a Saratoga Street property and demanding the keys to a 23-year-old man's car.
The man refused and retreated inside his house.
The teenager left the area and approached another house on Narraport Crescent where he allegedly confronted a 51-year-old male resident, demanded the keys to his car and forced entry to his home.
A scuffle took place inside where the teenager allegedly stabbed the man in the neck, took his keys and left in the man's car.
Polair helped police track the vehicle before deploying road spikes on Bardon Road at Logan Central just before 8pm.
Police chased the teenager on foot before taking him into custody.
The 51-year-old Narraport Crescent resident was taken to hospital in a critical condition. The other two residents were not physically injured.
The boy is due to appear in Beenleigh magistrates court this month.
