Logan City Council will support Queensland police in targeting the area's hoons.
Council will spend $250,000 on measures to stop hoons on its streets.
The move, announced this morning in council's 2020-2021 budget delivery, is designed to thwart an escalating problem in areas like Greenbank, New Beith and Waterford.
Several councillors are set to join an anti-hooning taskforce.
They will implement an anti-hooning plan to help police officers tackle the problem.
The news comes as Jimboomba police make inroads into hooning in the area.
A man's car was towed last month, and police promised more action was to come.
The man, 20, was due to face charges of wilfully making unnecessary noise or smoke in November.
