South-east Queensland residents could shiver through their coldest day of the year so far on Thursday, according to weather experts.
Cooler, drier air has followed in the wake of a trough which moved off the coast this morning, and forecasters are tipping lower minimum and maximum temperatures than the June average in locations in our corner of the state.
Meteorologist Shane Kennedy said A cold snap which had hit the region earlier this month would return.
He said maximum temperatures would be two or three degrees below average, while minimum readings would be three to five degrees below average.
Mr Kennedy said the coldest morning would be on Thursday.
"Many locations may see their coldest day of the year so far," he said.
A minimum of three degrees is tipped for Beaudesert on Thursday, with a maximum of 22 degrees, with four to 20 predicted tomorrow, and three to 21 on Wednesday.
The bureau is also predicting three to 22 degrees for Jimboomba on Thursday, with minimums of five and four leading up to it.
Cleveland will be warmer, with eight to 19 forecast for tomorrow, and minimums of seven degrees and six degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
