A new Logan City councillor said she was honoured by the community's trust in her to do the job.
Natalie Willcocks won Division 11 over the weekend, with 50 per cent of the vote.
Ms Willcocks beat Bryan Bartlett, with 32 per cent, and Kathleen de Leon, with 17 per cent.
"Now that the election has been declared, it is an honour that the community have put their confidence and trust in me as their elected representative for the next four years," Ms Willcocks said.
"I will work amicably alongside the other councillors and mayor who are also elected however, I will first and foremost always work for the residents and community of Division 11."
Infrastructure and transport issues are Ms Willcocks' focus as she begins work.
"Division 11 is the fastest growing area in Logan," she said.
"I will advocate to get improvement in both our infrastructure and transport by consulting with residents and community to get better services.
"Whilst we welcome the new bus service for our division, we need a Thursday, Friday, Saturday night and weekend service to connect with employment both in and outside of our division. The DRT service also need to be extended to include our division and all of Logan.
"As well as road and infrastructure issues we also have flooding issues, inland rail, development, animal control issues and hooning.
"Our immediate concern is COVID-19, with residents, council and government, needing to be aware and work together to beat the virus and get back to normal as soon as possible.
Ms Willcocks paid tribute to her competitors.
"I would like to thank both Kathleen and Bryan for running in the election and I wish them both well in their future," she said.
Division 9's result was still undecided earlier this week .
