Logan City Council will close its waste and recycling facilities to the public from 7am tomorrow.
Only essential waste vehicles will be given access to the facilities.
Essential waste vehicles include council's contractor-operated waste collection trucks, council vehicles, commercial waste contractors and waste from businesses.
The new rules will have no impact on council's existing household and commercial waste and recycling bin collection services, which will continue as usual.
"The temporary closures are in line with council's top priority of protecting the health and well-being of the community, our customers and our staff," a spokesman said.

- Logan Village
"They also support the stay home, stay safe message from governments and health authorities.
"The decision to close the waste and recycling facilities was not taken lightly.
"It needed to be made following a period of above-average patronage at our facilities with some members of the public not adhering to the Federal Government's latest guidelines on social distancing."
The public is also reminded that hefty fines can be enforced for illegal dumping.
Council is also looking to ensure that the number of people attending the City Administration Building, in Wembley Road, Logan Central, is compliant with the latest federal government rules on mass gatherings and social distancing.
From tomorrow customers wishing to access the Customer Service Centre will be required to make an appointment. to do this, phone call 3412 3412.
The Beenleigh and Jimboomba customer service centres are now closed until further notice.
