TEN new cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been confirmed in Queensland.
This takes the state total to 78 which includes three passengers from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.
Queensland Health this afternoon announced the following people had been confirmed with COVID-19:
- 1. A 50-year-old woman being managed by the Sunshine Coast Public Health Unit .
- A 35-year-old woman being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 59-year-old woman being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 71-year-old woman being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 60-year-old man being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 28-year-old woman being managed by the Gold Coast Public Health Unit
- A 62-year-old woman being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 64-year-old man being managed by the Brisbane Metro South Public Health Unit
- A 35-year-old man being managed by the Brisbane Metro North Public Health Unit
- A 50-year-old woman being managed by the Townsville Public Health Unit after being
Queensland Health confirmed all cases remained isolated in appropriate accommodation to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A spokesperson said nine patients had recovered.
"Contact tracing is still underway for these new cases," the spokesperson said.
"Queensland Health will notify the community if any other public health alerts are required.
Queensland Health is urging anyone who has been overseas in the last 14 days and has a fever or any respiratory symptoms to see a doctor immediately.
"Please call ahead to the GP surgery and let them know your symptoms and travel history, this will help them prepare for your arrival.
"Queenslanders can do their part by practicing good hygiene and staying home if you're sick.
