BAMS is on the hunt for two potential superstars to join them for a comedy production to be featured at The Centre Beaudesert on May 1.
The group started auditions early this month for The Outback Debutante Ball, a story about a small town committee getting government funding for a city consultant to come and teach a group of debutantes the finer arts of grooming, deportment, dress and dancing.
The grant was conditional upon the town having at least six debutantes and since they only have three, the comedy follows the antics of local characters trying to persuade three more girls to join in (and six young men to escort them), with the aim of impressing a visiting politician who can help them secure more funding for hall repairs.
Director Laurie Dunne said most of the cast for The Outback Debutante Ball had been chosen but they were in need of two men aged 18 to 40 to complete the ensemble.
"No previous experience is necessary, what we're looking for is someone willing to go on stage," he said.
"Both roles are significant- we already have one young man who has stepped up but we really need three to make this work.
"We are desperate for someone to step forward as soon as possible but certainly within the next couple of weeks."
Mr Dunne said rehearsals were on Wednesday and Sunday from 6.30 to 9pm.
