The match bolstered an already impressive amount raised for the McGrath Foundation, and those there made sure it had a serendipitous end.

A signed shirt auctioned off after the match raised $563, which was McGrath's Test wickets tally.

A huge crowd was on hand, and a gold-coin donation from each member of the crowd gave the total raised an extra boost.

Former Brisbane Bronco Michael Hancock and Beaudesert boxing ace Clay Waterman were among those who took to the pitch. Motocross star Todd Waters and Logan MP Linus Power also played.

Australian sprinting legend Patrick Johnson and former Cowboy Brenton Bowen were late withdrawals, meaning Bannan had to bring in a couple of players at the last minute.

Some good-natured sledging between the sides provided laughs for the crowd as the players were wired up in the style of the Big Bash League.
