A broken hand hasn't stopped Harriet Elleman from securing a place in the ACT Brumbies Super W side.
After playing in the competition for the first time last year, the Ag College forward was relieved a training mishap didn't block her dreams.
"I'm very excited to be selected again and be part of the squad," Elleman said.
"I had a bit of a rough start to training with a broken hand so I've very happy to be selected."
Elleman spent eight weeks rehabilitating her hand after it was stood on during a Brumbies session in November
However the 26-year-old clearly still impressed selectors, who had a big task of cutting down the final squad after 150 trialled.
"After I'd been selected in the (top) 50 we were doing some contact practice and got stood on," Elleman said.
"I didn't really think anything of it but then got referred for an x-ray and had to be operated on two days later.
"It was eight weeks of rehab - running and bikes as I wasn't allowed to touch a ball - and I got the all clear last week so I'm all ready to go.
"I was so nervous about it as they went out on a limb to select me knowing my hand is still healing but I must have done enough work when I was in rehab so it's awesome."
Elleman has been travelling to Canberra three times a week to train Brumbies with the final squad featuring 17 players returning from the 2019 campaign along with 17 fresh faces.
In a much-improved effort last season the Brumbies qualified for the finals and Elleman has set her sights on helping the team go one better this season.
"We've been working really hard on our fundamentals .... as our plan is we want to make that grand final and go as far as we can possibly go," she said.
Elleman is the only current Southern Inland player with the Brumbies, but there are plenty who have come through the ranks including former CSU speedsters Biola Dawa and Claudia Obst while former Waratahs player Jane Garraway co-captain.
