THE Beaudesert Borobies first XI started the new year in fine style with a comfortable home win over Loganholme.
The Borobies bowlers set up the victory in the game's opening stanza, claiming six wickets for just 16 runs courtesy of some clinical swing and seam bowling.

In reply the Borobies batsmen took the long handle, chasing down the runs in the 21st over thanks to hard-hitting knocks from Luke Gittins (31), Sam Stewart (37*) and Dan Samphier (25*).
Other top performers for the match were Geoff Klease and Adam Jordan, whose tidy two-wicket spells kept the Loganholme batsmen quiet.

Some middle order resistance from Troy Walters and Brock Sorrenson turned the innings around but it did not stop the Borobies from being skittled for 130 in the 35th over.
Logan Village started their run chase full of aggression and continued in that vein to the finish the match in a hurry.
Spinner Lewis Steindl did his best to stem the tide with four scalps but it was not enough to stop Logan Village from chasing the runs in the 18th over, five wickets down.
The Beaudesert Pioneers posted 222 against Beenleigh Pirates after winning the toss and electing to bat first.
Andrew Hardy (25) and Keegan O'Donnell (39) got the innings off to a steady start before Max Harkin put the match in fast forward with 85.
Will Davison (25), Kyle Ralston (17) and Shaun Harkin (13*) all chipped in with valuable innings to see the Pioneers through to a challenging total.

The bowlers cleaned up the opposition in the 35th over as light began to fade.
O'Donnell was the pick of the Pioneers' bowlers, backing up his batting exploits to with an eight over spell of 4/20 and a run out assist.
