LOGAN Police have called on the community to access the Queensland Police Service Online Crime Map to gain insights into their local area.
The crime map reveals that there have been 442 offences in the Jimboomba Police District between September 30 and December 31 this year.
These are broken down to 69 drug offences, nine weapons act offences, 31 good order offences, 70 traffic related incidents, 15 assaults, 38 unlawful entry offences, 37 property damage offences, 29 unlawful use of a motor vehicle offences, 114 thefts and 30 other offences.
In the Beaudesert Police District there have been 268 offences recorded since September 30.
Senior Constable Jenny Wallis said the online map was easy to use.
"This new version of online mapping allows members of the community to easily input their suburb or police district and ... bam, crimes are clearly shown on a map," she said.
"The crimes are also broken down to timelines, dates, offence types and even offence times.
"You can zoom right in and see your own street and what is occurring around your home.
"Don't be scared into thinking there is a lot of crime around you by the amplified stories seen and heard on the tv and radio. Have a look for yourself and be informed on what's going on in your area."
Senior Constable Wallis said anyone concerned about being a potential victim of crime can seek information on home security audits, personal safety, vehicle security and more by accessing the Queensland Police Service website.
"If you notice some nearby residents have been victims of crime recently, please consider our crime prevention information sheets that are freely available to download for tips on what to do to ensure your home and property security," she said.
If you have information which can assist police contact Policelink 131 444 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
