THE best and brightest of Jimboomba Gymnastics Club's 600 members were presented with accolades during the 2019 awards ceremony on December 7.
Head coach Callie Wall said the annual event was designed to acknowledge gymnasts, coaches, committee members and volunteers for their hard work.
"Selecting a small handful to receive these awards is becoming an increasingly difficult task for the coaches," Ms Wall said.
The most improved award went to 20 gymnasts to recognise those who strive for perfection, even when confronted by daunting tasks.
Ms Wall described the most improved award winners as "gymnasts who never give up".
"Each coach nominated one gymnast from each class and they were presented with a large medallion in front of their family and friends," she said.
The coveted gymnast of the year award was presented to WAG level sic gymnast Erin Saxelby for her dedication.
Ms Saxelby trains 12 hours per week and has close to perfect attendance at Jimboomba Gymnastics Club.
She qualified and competed at the Queensland State Championships earlier this year and achieved strong results in every competition this year.
All coaches nominate a gymnast for the award, which is the biggest accolade of the night.
Ms Wall said the award reflected how hard Erin worked during lessons.
"Erin has been with the Jimboomba Gymnastics Club for quite a few years and her pleasant attitude towards coaches and fellow gymnasts is amazing, making Erin a pleasure to teach," she said.

Administration team volunteer Kirsten Pearson's hard work culminated in her nomination for the Logan City Sports Awards earlier this year.
Club president Joel Townsend said Ms Pearson was an asset to the club and awarded her lifetime membership in recognition of her efforts over the past five years.
"Kirsten spends multiple hours each week assisting the head coach and accounts officers, liasing with Gymnastics Queensland along with normal office duties. Despite having no children at the club and working a full time job, Kirsten is one of Jimboomba Gymnastic club's lifelines."
Sign-ons for next year have opened and classes have already started to fill up.
Next year marks the Jimboomba Gymnastics Club's 20-year anniversary.
