Baitul Masroor Mosque leads prayer for rain to flow in drought-affected communities

Imam Mohammad Ate Rabbi Hadi led the special "Salatul Istisqa" prayer on Friday, December 6 in coordination with all Ahmadiyya Muslim places of worship in Australia.

With his arms raised, Imam Hadi recited the Arabic prayer translated to English below.

"Oh our beloved god, bless us with rain that saturates us, (which is) beneficial and not harming us, soon (and) not delayed. Oh our beloved god, satisfy us with your rain of mercy. Oh god god saturate the cattle. Have your mercy on us and give new life to the affected areas. You are gracious, you are merciful, have mercy on us. Oh god bless us with your rain."

Brisbane Ahmadiyya Muslim Community director of public affairs Ibraheem Malik said the Islamic community's thoughts were with farmers and those doing it tough in drought-stricken parts of Australia.

"This was the tradition of the holy prophet of Islam (Muhammad) to offer this special prayer to beg for god's mercy for rain," he said.

"It is narrated in the holy prophet's narration books Abu Dawood, Al-Tirmizi and Ibn-Maajah."

Last month, the Baitul Masroor Mosque offered their support to people directly affected by bushfires in the Scenic Rim.

Mr Malik said medical care from two registered GPS was available in addition to supplies including water, blankets, hot food, toothpaste, brushes, towels, soap, shampoo, hand sanitizer and bandages.
