Bridge connected to $3 million South Maclean 'mega park' opens

This milestone comes as Orchard Property Group announced the completion of all major civil works and landscaping of stages one and two of the $120 million project.

Orchard Property Group have declared that the recently constructed 9.4 hectare parkland winding along Flagstone Creek is the centerpiece of the Pebble Creek project.

The $3 million park includes a multi-purpose sports field, basketball court, outdoor ping pong table, adventure playground, dog off leash area and learn to ride precinct.

Orchard Property Group development director Ted Cronin said the park was designed to appeal to a broad range of families.

"With the project nestled along the banks of Flagstone Creek, we had a unique opportunity to create an outdoor recreation and adventure destination that would be unmatched in the area and provide options for people of all ages," Mr Cronin said.

Park designer Dean Butcher, from SLR Consulting, said vegetation and ecology was be blended into every aspect of the park to prevent the feeling of over-urbanisation.

"The playground, for example, is positioned so it feels like it is nestled within the trees and the picnic facilities are integrated with enough vegetation to provide plenty of natural shade.

"A section of the park has also been allocated for rehabilitation and feature planting, providing an area that will one day reflect a time of uninterrupted forestry.

"The layout will embody the whole natural movement of water into the design, from linked facilities right down to the meandering pathway that is reminiscent of the flowing creek."

When complete, Pebble Creek will be home to more than 1800 people.

Stage one lots are being settled while lots in stage two will be released to market next month.

Pebble Creek falls within the Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area, which is expected to be home to 120,000 people when fully developed.
