RAIN over the weekend for Scenic Rim, Logan and the Redlands provided some hope but westerly winds set to pick up today will see a severe fire danger in place.
The Bureau of Meteorology says the westerly winds will dry up whatever soaking the region saw in the past two days.
BOM meteorologist David Crock said Logan received the most rain on Saturday and Sunday.
"The best rain fell on the corridor between Ipswich and Logan with some areas receiving 25mm and many recording 15 to 20mm," he said.
"The Scenic Rim on average only received a couple of millimetres although a couple of areas had more than 10mm and the Redlands was the same, with Bayside, Manly and Wynnum recording 2mm and Alex Hills recording 12mm.
"The westerly winds today with hot, dry conditions will increase the fire danger to severe today, so we are in for another round of fire weather, pretty much what we have seen everymonth since September."
Mr Crock said Tuesday and Wednesday would bring more hot, dry weather but the winds would not be as high.
Temperatures are predicted to reach the mid-30s this week and Mr Crock said there was no rain on the horizon until next weekend, when there is a slight chance of showers.
