DANGEROUS bushfire conditions have intensified a serious blaze in Buccan which has sparked warnings for people to leave the area as properties could be at risk.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services issued an alert at 1.30pm warning a dangerous fire was travelling in an easterly direction from Waterford Tamborine Road along Dairy Creek Road.
Access to Dairy Creek Road has been blocked from traffic turning from Waterford Tamborine Road.
"The fire could have a significant impact on the community. Fire crews are working to contain the fire but firefighters may not be able to protect every property," QFES said in a statement.
"You should not expect a firefighter at your door. Power, water and mobile phone service may be lost. People in the area will be affected by smoke which will reduce visibility and air quality."
People living at Wilson Road, Cambogan Road, Buccan Road, Jarvis Road, Easterly Street and Gardners Road and surrounding streets are expected to be impacted.
Residents are advised to self-evacuate east along Dairy Creek Road towards Holmview.
A QFES spokesperson said it was too early to tell whether any properties would be affected.
