The estranged father of GWS footballer Toby Greene has appeared briefly in a Melbourne court accused of headbutting a policewoman at the AFL grand final.
Michael Greene has been charged with intentionally causing injury, resisting arrest, public drunkenness and breaching his bail.
The 60-year-old appeared at Ringwood Magistrates Court dressed in a grey jumper and brown trousers.
He did not apply for bail and the matter was adjourned for a contest mention in November.
Greene was arrested on September 28 after watching Greater Western Sydney go down to Richmond in a disappointing 89-point AFL premiership loss.
The policewoman he allegedly headbutted needed recovery time, the force has previously said.
The alleged victim did not appear in court on Thursday.
