Logan City Council invited the Chambers Flat delegation to tour operating wastewater treatment plants at Maleny and Nambour.
A council spokesperson said the sewage treatment plant to be built on Pleasant View Road would employ similar technology and wetlands techniques to the Sunshine Coast sites.
"Five residents joined (the) tour. It follows about 20 Chambers Flat residents visiting the Cedar Grove waste water treatment plant site on July 18, 2019, to view construction of its first stage," the spokesperson said.
Candidate for Division nine, Bob Lye said he enjoyed the tour.
"I know the technology has come so far in the past 30 years since the Loganholme plant was built," he said.
The future Chambers Flat site is in the early planning phase and is expected to be built after 2021.
It will service high growth suburbs including Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve and operate according to modern standards, and may use a membrane bioreactor and advanced odour control system.
The Cedar Grove sewage treatment plant is more than 60 per cent complete and is on track to open mid-2020.
