Logan libraries embrace Star Wars Reads

THE force is strong in Logan's libraries this month as the international Star Wars Reads celebration gets underway.

Star Wars themed stories, craft and other activities will unfold at Logan North and West libraries on October 19, from 10.30am.

Logan North library will feature a diorama display built by Bethania Star Wars fan Ron Doak.

Mr Doak has built dioramas for Star Wars episodes I to VIII and the movies Rogue One and Solo.

He said the hobby has kept him busy for the past eight years and he was keen to encourage children to learn the craft.

"Unfortunately, my (day) job gets in the way," he said.

Mr Doak said he was a die hard Star Wars enthusiast who was hooked from the moment the first movie was released in 1977.

The Star Wars Reads events come ahead of the anticipated release of The Rise of Skywalker to cinemas in December.
