BEAUDESERT residents can take the opportunity to have their heart health assessed for free as a William Street chemist joins a national "Wellness Revolution" campaign launched by Discount Drug Stores.
The campaign aims to perform 10,000 blood pressure checks nationwide before September 27.
Discount Drug Stores' professional services manager Melissa Hui said a pharmacist could provide advice on how to detect signs earlier among those at risk for heart disease.
"Heart disease and cardiovascular disease will impact lives, either directly or indirectly, of almost every Australian," she said.
"That's why it's important to be aware of the risks and how small changes to your lifestyle may help to combat the disease.
"High blood pressure usually has no symptoms, so a simple blood pressure check is important to reveal any early risk indicators for heart disease."
